Case for support:
As the only provider of transitional housing services to homeless youth aged 16 to 20 years old in our community and a growing waitlist for housing, we must increase number of beds available for the youth in our care. Our unique and resilient youth come from situations that resemble nightmares- all have experienced poverty and most have experienced trauma from abuse, domestic violence and involvement in the foster care system. They come to us with diagnosed and undiagnosed mental health disorders, addiction, unaddressed physical health needs, and little to no job experience, skills, or role models and many have dropped out of school.
Our goal is to "build futures" for homeless youth by providing safe housing, food, medical and mental health referrals through case management services and life skills education. We have the opportunity to raise $7,200 in matching funds to add two apartments to better serve those in need- one for three additional youth and another for the essential onsite staffing required for this growing program. Your gift will help us achieve this goal and change the lives of the youth.
