Monday, November 16 - “Show and Tell: Stories of Poverty,” 7 p.m. at Rachael’s Cafe, 300 E. Third St. A collection of monologues performed by IU students taking a public speaking course focused on issues of hunger and homelessness. Free.
Thursday, November 19 - Are They Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, 7 p.m. at Bloomington High School South, 1965 S. Walnut St. A night of fun trivia featuring local 5th graders and adult contestants Pam Thrash of B97 FM, Dr. Richard Malone of Southern Indiana Pediatrics, a member of IU’s Acacia Fraternity, and local school teachers. Advance tickets available for $10 at Sunrise Box Office. Tickets also available at the door. Children 5 and under get in free.

Saturday, November 21 - Kicking It, 7:30 p.m. at the Indiana University Fine Arts Building (just north of Showalter Fountain, next to IU Auditorium). Join us for a viewing of this captivating film as a part of the Ryder Film Series. Kicking It chronicles the experiences of seven homeless men competing at the 2006 Homeless World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa. Tickets are $5.

“Spare Change for Social Change” - Keep an eye out for HHAW donation canisters in many of your favorite Bloomington stores and restaurants. All proceeds from the canisters will go to help prevent and address issues of hunger and homelessness in our community.
“What Home Means to Me” - Visit the Herald-Times online and the Showers Atrium throughout the week to see photos taken by people experiencing homelessness on this topic.
