Independent Living Coach

Stepping Stones provides transitional housing and supportive services for youth aged 16-20 who are experiencing homelessness.   We are hiring an Independent Living Coach to provide case management and life skills training utilizing youth development/strength-based principles.  Position is full time; with some flexibility in hours (will include some evenings and Saturdays).  Salary is $24,000. 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other related field.

·         Previous experience working with youth, particularly teenagers.

·         Must demonstrate high level of maturity and ability to work independently.

·         Must have vehicle in good working condition, insurance and good driving record.

Resident Assistant

Stepping Stones, a local nonprofit that provides supportive housing to youth aged 16-20 years old experiencing homelessness, is looking for two Resident Assistants starting in May or later in the summer.  RA’s make a one or two year commitment and share a two-bedroom apartment onsite with free rent and utilities.  RA’s staff the community center in the evenings, provide support and life skills coaching, provide oversight overnight, and do apartment inspections.  They are paid $30/day for each day worked.   

Requirements:  need to be at least 21 years of age and demonstrate a high level of maturity.  Must have a valid driver’s license, a vehicle in good working condition, insurance and good driving record.   Previous experience as RA or working with youth preferred.  Strong interpersonal skills/ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both verbal and written communication.  Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions.  Great deal of tact/diplomacy/patience/judgment required while performing a wide range of interactions.

Administrative / Development Internship for Summer 2012

Stepping Stones is looking for professional students looking for administrative and fund development experience in the nonprofit sector.  The beginning of the unpaid internship is negotiable.  Primarily responsibilities will include developing marketing strategies to promote mission, identity and brand within community; create and cultivate relationships with community businesses, organizations, groups, and officials; and collaborate with board, staff, volunteers, and community partners in promoting Stepping Stones.  Fund Development responsibilities include grant writing, special event planning and participation and donor cultivation.  To apply, send letter of interest, resume, and application by email to wwade@steppingstones-inc.org
